Default Thanksgiving Buck 2008

Went out Thanksgiving morning not knowing what to expect. I sat in a tree stand that does not allow an easy shot behind me. About 15 minutes after sunrise I spot a buck running about 150 yards west of me through some trees. I am thinking he will probably cross our food plot through our crp grass and keep going south. To my suprise he stops at the food plot and heads directly east towards me. My first thought was that he is going to pass on a trail behind me were I don't have a great shot from. I stood up in my stand and turned around. I drew my PSE Super G Force bow back when the deer was behind a large bushy tree at about 100 yards. When the deer was withing 25 yards I was aiming at him but it was not a good shot. He looked up at me and I thought, great this is the end of this. He put his head down and kept on walking. I moved enough to get a clear 10 yrd shot from 15 feet up between two tree limbs. Whack! I see the arrow in the ground and the deer is on a dead sprint with a nice double lung hole in his side. I am using gold tip arrows with the Rage 3 blade, talk about a nice entry and exit would. The deer was spraying blood for 5-6 feet out the right hand side that I shot him in. He went about 150 yards and expired. What a great feeling to have one on the ground.
