Awesome! congratulations to you! But isn't that considereda 6 point?
No, we don't need to inflate the size of bucks on the west coast.

KIDDING! Really...just messing with ya.

We count one side. If it's a 3pt, then it has at least 3pts on one side. Washington Department of Fish & Game considers a 1x3 deer to be a 3pt deer when referring to a 3pt minimum buck area. But most people will just call it a 1x3.

Mine is really a 3pt by most standards, but the one eyeguard is over 1" and measurable as a point by P&Y and B&C so it can be called a 4pt, or more commonly a 4x3.

I thought it might be something like that. Thanks for helping this midwest boy out! Congratulations again! Beautiful Blacktail!!!

Correction, I don't know if it will be "all-time" or just the next publication. I never submitted a buck so I don't know how that works.

And thanks!

My friend kicked my ass this year for Blacktail. I was giving him a hard time for not getting a deer with his modern firearm. I hadn't heard from him for a while because we are living about 4 hours away and you have to take a ferry boat across Puget Sound to get there. I figured he didn't get his buck but I went to his house last week and he goes to the fridge and pulls out the head & rack and drops it on my lap. A 5x5 that will probably score around 135-140 B&C.

This picture doesn't do the deer justice. Most people are behind the deer holding the rack out at full arm's length, but he is in front of the rack so it looks smaller. He took it on closing day of late season!
