How do you take care of your land owner?
So far this year I've taken 1 buck from his land. It was nice healthy boy tipping the scales at 220 dressed. The land owner even helped me get him out of the woods... after, yes after he'd just gotten back from a long days work. (He's one of my company's customer/contractors)
I can't tell him thanks enough for even letting me set foot on his (I'm guessing) million dollar estate. What I do for him is cut him backstraps and both tender loins from every single deer I kill whether its from his land or from a hundred miles away. Backstraps and tender loins will always make it to his doorstep... FRESH and unfrozen! -which is what I'm about to do tonight. Even though I know he's a nice guy and wouldn't ask anything from me,I still gotta keep him happy as if he were asking. Just curious, what do you do? |

I'd find out what he likes and get him something really nice. Maybe an expensive bottle of scotch or whatever tickles his fancy, heck, I'd even over to work for him for a weekend cutting wood or something to keepin good.

I give them some jerkey whenever I make a bunch.
I also work for my landowner year round, so permission is kinda like a fringe benefit. |

I don't do it but, a gift card will do the job.

At my main spot...I say, See ya next weekend Grandpa!
at my next best spot, I thank my buddies uncle. He lets us hunt his place exclusively. My uncle owns some land which I rarely hunt anymore, except for turkey...again just the occasional thanks. I give him 1 turkey a year each fall though. I hunt friends/family land....so I don't need to worry too much about it just yet. after season, I am going with my dad to possibly purchase a 20 acre gold mine of deer hunting that backs up to my grandpas farm...hopeful, but unlikely to get it. I told him I'd go in halves on it for a chance like that. |

This is the first year that I have had hunted on land that was not owned by a relative. I am planning on venison and a Red Lobster gift card.

I put in 40 hours of volunteer time (pulling weeds, stacking wood, etc..)at the University park where I hunt now. As do the other 64 hunters drawnif they want to qualify to hunt there.
When I had access toprivately owned land, I brought the ownersa commercially prepared food/chocolate/fruit gift basket around Christmas time. |
