RE: So you'll pay $2 Grand+.........

VA....Not being short....but I'd answered this a LONG time ago.

annika....I think you're taking me too literally. I'm talking about hunting the same animals....the same ways.....in the same places....over and over again. At some point....wouldn't it become redundant (no matter your success rate)?

I see me hunting them for years to come. I also see me LOVING each year. I'm just going to have to switch things up to keep it interesting. I've already decided a few things I'm going to do differently next year on the same gorunds I hunted this year. I also see the day when I hunt a LOT more (maybe exclusively, some day) with traditional gear. Maybe switch it up from year to year? Maybe hunt deer with one....turkeys with the other? Hnt from the ground? Hunt a single deer? Hunt different species, here (coyotes/fox/etc...)?

I'm not burned out (by a long shot). If anything....with my season drawing to a close in a few weeks.....I'm invigorated! Next year (and the rest of this one) holds many "unknowns".;)

Whitetails in NO WAY "bore" me. Hunting them the same old way....would lead me to burn out REALLY quickly.
You even responded to that the first time I posted it...

I understand what you are saying Jeff about hunting the same deer and the same land and the same way....I to look for new land and new ways to place stands on existing land to keep it changed up.. I like hunting my land and have liked it for 20 yrs, but it's probably b/c I have good deer here....

I don't have the desire to go hunt anything but big whitetails. When/if that gets old, I will look for something else to get me as exited as whitetails do now.
Brian,

I hear ya. if it does happen and you want to stay within NA, I would recommend a coues or desert mulies in Arizona, and of course a 300 class elk in Colorado (I can help you there).

For me, when it becomes routine (not necessarily old)verses hunting (new and exciting)it's timefor change.

I think it's somewhere between a horse and a donkey actually. Nonetheless, it's the hardest thing with stripes I've evertried to kill-with a bow! I maynever get one, but I can assure you I'll keep trying.

Jeff, that statement is really what the escence of this post is to me. That is to say, itshouldn't matter to Huck (and I'm sure it doesn't) what I think about shooting a Zebra because I am surehe gets as much satisfaction as I do from shooting a whitetail. Itshouldn't (and doesn't)matter to me if someone thinks hunting whitetails is boring or old hat because to me it isn't. All that should matter is that it's done legally and ethically and that the guy spending the dough is happy wherever that is.
I'm ok with that....

I'm sure I speak for all of us Will, and wish you nothing but the best in your hunting adventures. From all the smiles on your face in your game pics there is no doubt that you love what you are doing. Chris

You got that right Will!! The Coues' Deer Is actually nick named the grey ghost by many people. I've never hunted them but my dad has 4 different times down In New Mexico. He said without a doubt the hardest animal he's ever hunted. Finding them and the sign wasn't the tough part, getting an arrow In one with out them jumping the string was the tough part. There something else. I hope to get down there and hunt these some day.

You have to have a good mix of:

1. Semi-interesting subject matter
2. Semi-(or worse) controversial subject matter
3. A healthy dose of "regular" haters
4. A few Jonas Bros./HS Musicalfan club members that will come out of the woodworks to dispute ANYTHING you say at the drop of a hat.

That's really the key to it. It's a gift, kinda.:D

Jeff is good at keeping the ball in play. Some times you have to work at it.[8D]
