What's your batting average?

i.e. deer killed for arrows released.

If you have to put 2 arrows in a deer, it's still 2 arrows released, one deer bagged. I was striving for a perfect season, (who doesn't right?) but am already flawed. I have a 5/6 ratio. #6 did not result in a wounded deer but rather and thankfully just a wonded maple. But for the less fortunate, I wont pretend that things don't happen out of our control.

Just thought it'd be interesting to see how everyone is doing this year.

I don't much like what this says.....

So you spine a deer.....and follow up with 2-3 more arrows.....and you're penalized (in your scenario) as far as your "batting average"? I'd rather know I did the right thing.

Extenuating circumstances. I won't play.

Edit - And no....I haven't spined a deer, this year.

Umm...lets see...2/6. Missed one doe early in the season, double lunged a doe, shot high and back on a nice 130" class (which I got video alive two weeks later), and one f*#%&! up small 8 (double main beams on each side) that I spined, then put 2 more (total of 3) arrows in him.

Aite dawg, I dint wanna had to do dis but I gosta bust a atlasman on you. Allow me to putthis into terms you understand... if you hit a foul ball followed by a home run, it still took you 2 swings to score. I did afterall write:

That being said, do we really have to delve into "extenuating circumstances"? Way to complicate a simple thing. If you don't want to play, just don't. There's always an X top right. It doesn't have to be announced to all ofthe hni world that GMMAT aints playin! Good God.

See you on the montain with huck. Hope you don't make things that difficult there either bud!:D;);)

0 for 1 with a bow.
Missed a nice 10 point in early October. I hit a small limb that deflected my arrow under the deer for a clean miss...thank goodness.

2 for 2 with a rifle.
First time I ever did this: two coyotes on the same day, from the same standabout two hours apart.

1 for 1 with amuzzleloader.
A big doe this Sunday.

RE: What's your batting average?

Hoyt...

There's extenuating circumstances that "happen" sometimes in the deer woods. I shot four times (and hit four times) a deer I didn't even shoot, initially. What does THAT do for my BA? The deer was spined by another hunter.....and he was blocked for a follow up. I shot until the deer was not moving.

I was only trying to point out that there are such things that occur.

You can "bust on me" all you want. I did the right thing.

I was 1 for 2 this year, my first year with a bow. Got a doe, and had a clean miss on a buck. Misjudged the distance and shot under him.[:@].500, not to bad my first year out.

RE: What's your batting average?

2/3 just caught a doe on the chest, mostly a hair cut. I rushed my shot because i was on the ground with her looking straight at me and miss judged the distance. I still kick myself in the butt about it . Lesson learned i won't do that again
