No. I have no plans and no desireto ever leave the USA again.
Amen Brother

Having work for Cabelas and seen what Africa is to them, I have zero desire. It was more about the pictures of what they killed then the hunt.

I am learning it's about the hunt To those who go, good luck.

That's pretty bad, Gary (that generalization). Deer hunting's all about the antlers, too, huh.....for everyone???

The stories I heard watching Will's DVD of his adventure were from the airport in the US.....to the guys on the trip (and their backgrounds and life stories).....to the African cities.....to the village.....to the different species of animals....to the stories of other guys' hutns. The video footage of the hunts were great. The harvest photos were great.

The stills of the African scenery were breathtaking. The photos of animals NOT taken were awesome.

I think you threw out the baby with the bath water.

There is so much to Africa; more than willever meet the eye. I personally think every American shouldforego a tax refund check in lieu of a round trip airline ticket to Africa. If you get to hunt there, than great. Butit is something everyone needs to see. Then and only then will you realises just how fortunate you are to be born American! I had no desire whatsoever to hunt Africa eight years ago. Now, I will make great efforts to go back every other year if possible!Ya'll do not know what you are missing!

It's not anything I'll ever actively pursue, but if time and money were no object, I would go. Life is about experiences, and if I had the opportunity to do that, I would. But if it's nothing I'm ever able to do, well......I won't loose any sleep over it.

Have any of you read "Robert Ruarks books on hunting Africa?

The Horn of the hunter

Something of value

Uhuru

Will each reveal some amazing things about Africa.
Hemingway's book "The green hills of Africa" is another fair read.

A couple of weeks in Somalia sounds like fun..

I would go in a blink of an eye to shoot a few species of plains game but I like to travel anyway. Spent time inTurkey, Italylast summer and it was great.

We were planning a BIG family safari to africa on my mothers dime (bless her heart) but I vetoed it because you are stuck on a tour bus with armed guards in alot of places and can't leave the "lodge" after dark and it's not the animals they worry about.

Some people have no interest in seeing the rest of the world and I can't really blame thembecause you could spend a lifetime here in the old USA
