This is how I skin my deer
 

(If I'm not going to cape it)
I cut off the legs then I cut around the neck and split up the front legs up to the head. I peel the hide down the neck enough to tie a rope to the hide. I use a 1" socket wrapped in the hide to tie the rope to. I anchor the rope to a point low to the ground. Then I tie another rope around the horns up thru a pulley and attach it to my truck. Then I just drive forward and peel the hide off. Then I use to truck to adjust the height of the deer for easy quartering.

I use the winch on my ATV, but same concept. I find, I get less hair on the meat, that way, than skinning by hand.

BTW , I noticed ,what Im guessing is the bullet hole on the shoulder, what caliber did you use?

Awsome way to do it. I'm going to try it. We have always just had two guys hang from the hyde and it slips off pretty good but thats a ton better and easier on the fingers.:D

Ya, he died from lead poisoning:D Or should I say from a broken heart:DI shoot a 30-06. I switched to federal fusions 165 gr. They have a much more controlled expansion. They dig deep into heavy deer and don't rip the heck out of the meat.

Have you ever tried it from the hind quarters?, or are there problems that way?
