I have to be dreaming. I have just had the year of a lifetime. Started off on a DIY hunt on Kodiak Island Alaska the end of Sept. Took two Hawg Sitka Blacktails. The first is a 2X2 that nets 95" (takes 75" to make P&Y) The second is a late velvet 3X3 that grosses 100".
Then its back home to Ind. for whitetails. On the evening of Oct.30th I was fortunate to take a 180-6/8" nontypical. Absolutly beautiful buck, with unreal mass. Beating out last years Nov.28th 174-2/8" ILL. monster, that was my best bow buck to date.
Ok, now you would think "What a year". And there would be now wayI would have any luck left.
Well, on Wed. morning Nov.19th in ILL. I took another Slob. That is now my best buck to date. He has a total gross score of 185-4/8". I have hunted my ars off, and would like to thinkI have earned them. I have passed on 17 killable P&Y bucks, with numerous others spotted out of range. While waiting on these two giants.
On a side note. I am wanting to find quality hunting property in the other midwest states, except Ind. and ILL. Looking for Oh. Ia. Ks. Mo. and Ky. I would concider trading bow hunts. I am only interested in 150" and above. I have 9 different spots in both ILL. and Ind. and I hang up to 50 tree stands a year.
