I simply can't believe you'd shoot a squirrel with a bow!!!!

J/K... There's a big inside joke there... almost a decade ago, my first post was about shooting a squirrel and it caused quite the uproar.
Lol!! No kidding Greg? What the hell for?

Good shooting Chase!!

I've been known to lay out a wood duckwith my bow if he hops up on a clump of leaves in the creek and holds still. And there is a field down by Vabowman's house I still keep hoping I'll get to bowhunt for geese... that would be a bling hunt!

Had the opportunity again Tuesday on ol' woodroe with a bow.... just enjoyed watchin them too much... but they are damn fine eating.

They'd fly up the creek, which was rain swollen... and then float down through the woods eating acorns as they fell into the stream all the way down... same three.... two drakes and a hen... must have made the trip six or seven times throughout the day.

If I'd of shot them.... it would have been all I would have seen that day.... zero deer.... but I got even this morning... took the old scatter gun out for the first time.... 8 mallards and a black duck... home by 10 am.....

Edit: Of course... there were two of us hunting this morning.

Thanks Shultzy!

I don't blame you Swamp for busting out the scatter gun!

Yeah I don't even pay for arrows... but I'd still go broke if I tried killing ducks over decoys with a bow... all the wood ducks are shot while I'm deer hunting... which I am bow exclusive for. Might do a man drive or dog drive between xmas and new years just to be social and carry on for a while.

"But deep in my soul... it's ducks."

Nice shot. I did that once with a BH except I shot it in the chest. Somehow it ran a dozen feet or so...it was a great blood trail[8D]

14 years ago I did something kinda stupid. I was walking out of my deer stand on a Sunday morning and I see this huge fox squirrel about 20' up In a tree. I thought damn he's huge and he'd look awesome In the crock pot. I pulled my recurve back and pinned his ass right to the tree. I then look at him thinking, how the hell am I going to get him down? No tree limbs or nothing. He ended up rotting off of my arrow about 2 weeks later. My arrow lasted 2 years In that bass wood tree before It finally fell down. I actually found the arrow by accident when walking the trail where I had shot that squirrel at. I looked up after I found the arrow, yep, the arrow fell out. I couldn't believe I got It back. The broad head and insert must of stayed In the tree being they weren't on the end of the arrow.
