This buck was shot on November 4th in Illinois by a farmer, he shot it in exactly what he's wearing in the picoff the ground, went out ina red flannel shirt and jeans and shot it at 10 yards with a old High Country bow that he could hardly shoot and hedouble lunged it with a NAP Thunderhead 125.

It could have been on here and I missed it? It was shotover 2 weeks ago onNov 4th near Albany IL, the story says that the farmers son missed it during shotgun seasonin 2007. The story alsosaid that the farmer has shot quite a few deer but he usually wounds them but this one piled up after 40 yards. He alsosaid he does not plan on wall mountingthis deer.

See link below for the article and other photos pertaining to this deer. An awesome buck no doubt. PrairieStateOutdoors.com has many other great Illinois bucks that have been killed this year.

Wow!! Nothing fancy, I love It!! It sure makes me laugh seeing someone shoot a monster buck with out getting all high tech with with scent eliminator clothing, 300+ fps bow, etc. My hats off to him. Probably a good share of luck was involved but guess what, he still got It done! Congrats to him!!

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Yes, you CAN kill a deer without all the scent care, and scouting, etc. But it takes a load of luck. Luck was clearly on this guys side. Not to mention its primetime rut and the buck was probably thinking about scent ALOT less than he usually would. He was just looking for the ladies.
