RE: Bowhunting any good after gun season?
ORIGINAL: rybohunter It's next to pointless where I hunt. No food source, and the locals drive the woods every day in gun season, then almost everyday during our late archery/ML. Posted signs are meaningless. |
RE: Bowhunting any good after gun season?
Pretty good, here. I see deer in large numbers due to there being very little gun pressure on the lands I've been hunting (NO legal gun hunting on the 100 acres I have been hunting).
I took my best buck on 12/9/06.....almost a full month after the gun seasons opened. He was still dogging does....and I shot him as he worked a scrape. I still have faith I'm gonna see a shooter in range. |

Nah, it's just not worth going into the woods after, say... Nov. 18. I think everyone should stay home after that -- gun AND bow hunters.

RE: Bowhunting any good after gun season?
ORIGINAL: outdoorsmen i hate gun season!!! all the weekend warrior farmer bob's come out and start blasting away. it sucks to think that the odds will be that much less after gun seasonas many ofthe deer in my area will be killed. |
RE: Bowhunting any good after gun season?
harder? yes! Colder? yes! Not go hunting because of either? No way i would let that stop me. one just has tohunt the food sources and the places with more cover from the weather etc. imo
