RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
ORIGINAL: chrowski Impact archery has a lot of sights with fully encased optics. I purchased them for that reason, and they're brighter than any sight I've seen that's under $100 and my impact 3-pin cost me $45 They were the brightest sight I have ever used, and they were fully enclosed like you mention. However, I didn't like the way my sight had 1 pin dropping down, 1 from the side, and then 1 coming up. |
RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
RANGE FINDER top priority
release...been shooting the same one 3 years...its time to get a new one before it fails. and i need a backup period..just havent gotten around to it yet. heads..no problem with the muzzys, but i wanna goto something with thicker blades and get away from the alumanum ferrules... arrows... not sure if i will switch shafts or not...if i drop my weight, i can add more upfront, which i want..and wanna add about 100gr and get me at about 550gr finished with a good FOC...i like my XP selects and they are stiff enough to handle more up front...exspecially if i drop my draw weight...which also wouldnt matter to me...i can shoot more weight..but im already realizing less it still enough and easier... other than that, i cant think of anything major.... got a new rest (QAD HD) and sights (Viper predator pro with .019 ontop and .010s for the rest) and love them both... bow still works fine...sooner or later i'll upgrade...but top priority is a newer vehicle...id like a faster bow to handle my arrow weight and go with 60lb limbs maxed out instead of 70lb limbs lowered..but for now, the highlander will be fine... |
RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
I'll be stocking up on hang on stands after season when they go on clearance at dicks and wal mart. Last year I got 5 of them for $100

RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
Hey Ryan...I went with some brass inserts on my ICS Hunters to bump my weight and FOC. I'm happy with the results. POI changed some, but nothing major. I use two pins anyway.
As far as the sight goes, maybe just go with a cheap sight cover to protect the fibers while you are on the move. |
RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
I have another month and a half before this season ends but I bet I have a new release after my Cobra fell apart yesterday.

RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
Nice post as I was thinking of asking the same.
I'm looking for a new pair of Binos, for Bowhunting only. The ones I have now are way too bulky. Also looking at new Chains for my API (current ones just saw their 9th season) I have a dozen Carbon Express shafts that I plan to fletch myself (once I buy a fletching tool, suggestions welcome) and maybe some new cooler weather gear. |
RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
I think I'll pick up another couple more wolfskin Fall Gray outfits from www.graywolfwoolens.com...
Other than that, can't really think of anything. Maybe a few more trail cameras. It has been fun this year running a crop of cameras constantly to see what's on the land I'm hunting even if I never see them during the daytime. [8D] |
RE: Seasons over, gear for next year?
I'll be getting another Lone Wolf climbing stand, as the need for using a climber again has come about.
