Default Weekend Update IA 13 Pointer

Saturday, had two friends hunt with me. One, a preacher, has never shot a deer with a bow and the other is my neighbor. Winds were wailing, but it's the rut so I'm out there riding the stand. 30 minutes before dark, I had a doe come in continuously looking over her shoulder. I was sure there was a buck behind her, so I watched and waited. Everytime she stepped behind cover, I bleated back the direction shecame from. Dark came without seeing anything else. I got down and started walking towards the preacher. I got 50 feet from the stand and had a deer blow by me within 10'. I walked over to the preacher and he was bouncing like he had a jalapeno up his butt.
"Did you see one?"
"I saw a bunch!"
"Did you shoot one?"
"No, I shot TWO! A doe and a buck!"
I looked at one arrow sticking out of the ground with blood and white hair. We walked back and got the neighbor and returned to look for the deer. We went after the doe first because she was the first shot. Found her 125 yards from the stand in the middle of the hay field. Brought her back and went after the buck. We stayed out until the batteries died and nutted it for the night.
I went back to the stand this morning. As I was walking down the lane, a buck came out ahead of me and I stepped to the side. The buck started towards me and while I was waiting for him to come in he stopped and took off to the East. The wind was in my face and I was stumped about what would spook him. Then I heard it. There was a jingling noise coming up behind me. I looked behind me and there was my dog coming up to me with his chain attached. I wanted to cry. I took him back home and went back to the stand. It was real light but I sat until 9:00. Then I called the neighbor to see if he wanted to look for the preachers buck again.
He told me to get my butt over to his place. I drove the 4 wheeler over and holy cow! Kelly had dropped a buck.
We came back over after recovering his buck and looked for the preacher's. Found that one too. Got two pumped friends now and it's time for me.

Here's the preacher's 2nd deer and first buck.

Oh, and here's Kelly's buck! Rough score of 170". Fletch920 is going over to help cape and score him with the right tape. 13 pointer that would have been a 15 pointer except two tines were broken off. Update: Fletch920 scored him at 165 3/8"

I'm putting my son in the killing stand this evening and I'll be close by. After tonight, I have that stand until tags are filled.
