I don't think so, Chris. I've seen him twice, now.....a mile apart. How do you pattern that?....lol

I'll be where I saw him last, tomorrow......when he was dogging does (and I needed him to come 10yds closer). I still think where I saw him the first time is where he lives.....but with the rut kicking in....he could be anywhere (obviously).

GR8...Only analogy I can come up with is.....

Would you feel better about picking up a drunk bombshell or a perfectly sober one?
And this is what makes it easier to kill a trophy during the rut????

Isn't that agreeing with MOHO?

edit: Few seconds late

If my goal was to "score" and the result was achieved..what do I care?

Is making a hole-in-one easier in the daylight or in the dark?

you have elevated the degree of difficult. Do yousit outthe rut? Isn't your buck more likely to be thinking with his little head rather than his big head? Is the playing field truly level? Or, have you tilted things in your favor? Seems to me, if you were indeed a trophy hunter, you would bench yourself for the rut.

Thoughts?
what in the world.

THAT buck....Yes and No. Yes...It make sit easier to kill him....because I know where he'll "likely" be.And NO...it doesn't make it easier...because his pattern/cycle is all to heck.

"A" buck? Yes. It makes it easier.

I'm going where the girls are, tomorrow. That's where they'll be (or have been, all week). I'll take him/one of them if it happens....and I'll be proud as heck. I just thought the discussion was interesting.

I think it is interesting too, just seriously flawed.

A wife or a piece of ass? It makes a difference.

Daylight. You seem to be inferring that they are 100% "luck". I disagree.

Chris..I think the "rub" is if people think it's somehow diminishing someone's previous accomplishments. Like I said....maybe a more fair way to discuss this would have been to ask....

Would yu be MORE proud if you took a deer by patterning/locating him/"them" outside the rut.....or if you took him when you saw him for the first time....during the rut?

No I'm not inferring that at all, one you can see the target one you can't. To the average range monkey to a known distance does the visual help or hinder?

In the Bombshell scenerio..you didn't say we were looking for relationships.. I wouldn't troll a bar if that were the case

That's why I dislike the term trophy hunter.
I just want to shoot something big for the areas I hunt. I am no where near good enough to take one without a ton of luck outside the rut. Hunting the rut is certainly no garuntee either.
