Thanks all. I am off to butcher him right now. The wife had an important message for me via text..."honey, please hang him up right away so Rachel (brothers gf) and I do not have to see him...thanks babe."
It means alot to me that alot of you take the time to say congrats. I wish you all much success.

Thanks Jeff, any sightings this morning? It is an awesome day for deer here in VA...right before a storm system, cloudy, full moon, lower temps....I bet alot of deer hit the dirt today in VA. I will be back at it Friday/Sat. as I am taking my son to the movies tomorrow.

First, congrats on your buck! I know the feeling you are going thru, as I am starting to get that way now. I just wrapped up a five day hunt, consisting of 4 all day hunts. That will flat wear a person out. I know at the end of the season, I am wore out and ready for it to be over and sleep in a morning or two. I bet you are glad you talked yourself to getting back out there.

Brett:
I saw 3 bucks and one doe yesterday morning.
I saw 3 does, 3 fawns and 1 buck yesterday afternoon.
I saw 3 bucks and 4 doesthis morning.
All of this was in the same spot. I'm gonna let it rest this afternoon (although I moved several ....30-40+...yds each sit), then go in tomorrow and sit all day if I can in the rain (as long as it's not pouring). I only have two more days in this woodlot.....then the gun hunters take it over.
I'm going to an old haunt, this afternoon....where I have only seen one buck 100" in 3+ years of hunting, there....lol.
We'll see.
Congrats again on your buck.

Way to hang in there Brett.I knew you would drop one soon enough, you worked hard on it! Its certainly not an average buck for many, I would have done the same. Im sitting at home with 200#'s plus of venison and will only be out on weekends and one day a week to hunt. Im sure it helps with the whole confidence thing.
Let me know when you may get down here and help me do some "management" on my properties.

Thanks guys. Sure enough I went out and skinned him and measured his Inside Spread...it is right at 16. His main beams were around 15 inches. Probably a 65 inch deer. Thin rack, smaller tines, but nice spread. Gonna let the rain rinse him off tonight for a couple of hours then start on the butchering.
Thanks Hoyt. You have had a great season so far and stuck a very nice buck. You should be proud. Let me see what is going on with my schedule and I will let you know for next week.
