It sounds as if you have just a few years of experience behind you. I'll bet in a few more years, your beliefs will change.
Actually hunter.....the more I hunt the more my beliefs (in this area) are reinforced. The doe I watched for 50 minutes last night really solidified this for me. I can EASILY see where eople might think she was "looking up" for a hunter. As I said earlier...ALL I think she was doing was trying to wind me. She got my scent from the ground....where I'd placed my gear. But....she couldn't get my scent in the wind (which was good).

I'll keep watching.....and maybe I will change my tune.
Jeff don't change your train of thought, I've watched 1000's of deer. The only time I've seen adeer look up, is if I move, they here me,they scent check or they are working a scrape.

Gri22ly your a good guy and all but everyone else Is wrong here then I take It? I see it every year. My area gets pounded from gun hunters. The gun season gets over next weekend and I guarantee you I'll see many many doe's and fawn's looking up In the tree's till the end of our bow season Dec 31st.

Thousands of deer??? 10,20 30 thousand?? I have seen a few in my time in the woods and had one look up at me tonight. I didn't bat an eye or move a muscle with the wind in my favor. "Prolly" just a smarter breed around here.

Jeff, what deer do before they get to them they soon forget. They only rember what the deer did within shooting range.
