I am surprised that doesn't happen more often than it does. Those bucks really get after it in a fight.

Could it be from awild arrow? Maybe not, if this is a restricted area. Just a thought.

Who knows how it happened but that looks painful. Deer are some tuff critters sometimes.. Just like humans many of them are willing to fight and even die just to "get it".. lol
Good Pics, thanks for sharing..

I bet if that wound was caused by a poacher or simply a legitimate bad shot, he wouldn't be nicely lying around for someone else to take several pictures.

It is a restricted area. The pic was taken onfactory property. My buddy said, that land does border state land a little ways away. I don't know if I would believe its a shot gone wrong, it sure looks like it tho. To me that would be a head on shot someone tried to take, and I cant believe an archer would take such a shot, not out of the question tho.

ORIGINAL: Dopler

Could that be from a glancing arrow? Maybe a guy made a bad shot?
Where is old oneshot? You remember his proud head shot post?

They sure do get buggered up. The left ear on the buck I shot last week was split into 3 pieces. He looked like he got it caught in a paper shredder. LOL We went to the taxidermist so I could see the rack off the big buck my nephew shot. While there the owners wife was telling us of one buck that had been brought in. It had been gored right below the ear down into it's mouth. It also had 2 punctures, well really just big bruises on each side of it's windpipe on the neck. The neck was all puss and nasty. Check out the ear.
