I finally got it done this morning.Very uneventfull morning untill about 8:30 when I saw some movement out in front of me about 100 or so yards through the woods. It was a doe that was really being harrased by something behind her and then I heard some blowing. She started up the hill toward me so I started to stand because her path was going to my off side. That's when I saw him and I became much more cautious while getting up.She walke right up to within 15 yards and he was blowing and kept looking behind him for some reason. He got withing about 30 yards and was behind a tree so I drew and was waiting for that 1 step.I then looked over at the doe and she had me pegged and I was really hoping the next move wasn't at a dead run.Well,he moved a little closer and jumped out into 1 of my shooting lanes and I let him have it.

I was shook and really nervous about the shot.I THOUGHT it hit behind the pin and the spot I saw on him was right where I wanted it but when he took off,my arrow was really hanging out so I started worring about the shoulder because I have never had this happen like this.Turns out that I just center punched a rib and my 53# setup deidn't like it much.[&:]

Come to find out,the blowing was directed toward a fellow hunter that had just let him go(already killed buck) and new he was headed toward me.While I was getting my blood trail,I saw him and he yelled that he heard him crash so I headed over to him and after a little looking,it was about 40 yards from where we thought he went down.

Congrats TFOX! Great buck.

I just picked up a phenomenal tip from you too.... watch on the bow riser.... keeps the bow in hand... and keeps you from having to flip your arm up to check the time..... brilliant.

Congrats again!

It was gun season so we were required to where hunter orange but I took my vest off for the pic. Here is the guy that helped me find him.

Anyone remember the velvet buck in the tall millet field?I think this is the same deer but I can't get into my photobucket account to compare pics right now.

The wind wasn't swirling but it was a constant 10-15 mph yesterday but today it would blow and then die down and then start up again.

I didn't even really think about it being him untill I was driving to pick up my son tonight and I really think it is.
