I hear you. It's the same deal where I hunt as well. Last year I could have counted on one hand the times that I didn't see a deer. This year, I haven't see a deer on 8 of the last 10 sits. It's extremely frustrating to say the least.

That's EXACTLY how it's been in my area of SEPa for the last two weeks! I've never seen it like this the first week of Nov, ever. Everyone is saying this week is the week, so we'll see. I hope their right, is all I can say.

Well, if my trail cam in GA is any indication, I know what the issue is.
I got my camera on 6 white oaks that started dropping 2 weeks ago and are almost finished dropping. For 2 weeks, I got 158 pictures of deer and only 5 in daytime. They have gone nocturnal already!

Same problem in central Wi as well. Where did they go??? Im startign to wonder if were not stuck in some strange new lull. They are predicting that the 17th will be the peak of the rut this year, im not seeing it. Im thinking its going to be later. I drive back and forth through big deer country and havent seen a single deer for 3 weeks crossing the hwys and thats the most unbelievable thing ever. If anyone knows Hwy 73 and hwy 13 they know what im talking about.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE DEER GONE

But seriously, I haven't seen any deer this year compared to what I did last year. Especially buck-wise. I haven't really even seen too much rutting activity[&o]. It's gotta come sometime though!

according to Deer and Deer Hunting, the second full moon after the autum equinox is the trigger that starts the rut. This year that full moon is not until Nov 13th....late rut!
