Default Did API Go Out Of Business?

I have heard several rumors that API was going out of business. Does anyone know if this is true or not? If so what happened? I thought they were the leader in the treestand market??

The API' s that I saw at Harrisburg weren' t of the same quality that they used to be. I guess Outland was subbing them out to low bidder, trying to save a buck.

ANd then when the lowest priced parts failed they had to recall several thousand. BUT HEY,..... that didn' t matter... because they just ignored you when you filled in the forms and did all the appropriate registering to get the replacement kits. AND... since they ignored they didn' t send them. So, we all have stands that we' re not suppose to use from a company that won' t answer the mail or phone. I love this world.

This all gives me an excuse to buy a new climber. Len knows the one I want.

Not trying to help them out on this current bashing thread. But they did just send me two Brand New Kenco feeders as replacements for the two I sent in for warranty work. I will say the current line of KENCO' s is no comparison to the quality of the older ones.
The api' s I own are over three years old, I' d probably go summit next just because of the quality problems listed here.

I bought the Bigshot from Len about three years ago, and love it. I took two friends up there last year, to get their' s as well, one Bigshot and one Bigshot Magnum. Len had the best price around. Great stands for gun & bow. Good luck with whichever one you get.
