A few pics from the Bee Hive stand
Some of yopu may remember that earlier this summer I posted about a particular ladder stand I hung last winter only to find out that it has a bee hive in one of the limbs (an old cottonwood).
I contemplated trying to kill bees but input from the such as Germ and DukeMichaels reminded me of how important bees are and not to kill them. So I didn't. But moving the stand is not an option in that trees big enough to hunt out of in our area are few and far between.
Rather, I chose to wait until we had a cold spell and freeze so they would go dormant. I hunted it this past weekend and while the activity is miniscule compared to the summer's activities, it was not completely dormant on a warm fall day. But knowing this, I took a Macro lens with me and had as much fun as I can remember with my camera.
Here are a few of my favorite pics from this weekend.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! I enjoy looking at them. By the way, what type of insect is the one that has some red on it?
