Or just get yourself some adjustable padded straps and put 'em where you want 'em!

Not sure how you would even get the stand far enough down your back to have it trip you up. Either way, glad your troubles are over!

This is a good idea but it creates another problem. While it will be easier to step over logs and stuff without getting tripped up.....when you need to duck under limbs or fall downs your stand will be more like to get hung up since it is now higher on your back.

I have a new Summit Goliath and battle these same obstacles.

The best way I have come up with to battle both is by wearing my backpack style fanny pack and then putting my stand on my back. The pack pushes the bottom of the stand out enough where my legs don't get hung up in it anymore.

That's what I was wondering. I am 6'1" and if I sinch the backpack straps good and tight I don't have a problem, but I could see if I was a little shorter this could be a problem. Also, I have one of the smaller stands, the bushmaster.

I'm 5'8" and have the same issue described above. I remedied it by putting my pack on first and putting the stand on over it. The teeth are held up and away by my pack and I don't need the skills of a seamstress.

What I'm puzzled about is whysomeone wouldneed to cut the straps to relocate them. Whey you buy a Summit stand, YOU put the backpack straps on yourself during assembly. Just unstrap them, un-do the loop and move them.

Good idea. That's the only thing I hate about mine. I have very little skin left on the back of my legs.

I wondered about whether height would have anything to do with this. I'm 6'1", also....and it's never been an issue with my Summit.

I'm 6'5" and I've got a Titan...I have this problem. Mine grabs hold of my tall rubber boots. But I can tell you one thing...I'm not cutting any straps! I'll just unclip em, move em, re-clip em! :D

I'm 6' 1", have the Goliath and this is not an issue. Just move the straps, no need to cut!

I didn't think to mention that this is model specific. Which models I don't know but I do know that my 3yr old Summit Bushmaster did this to me. And I base cutting the straps on my particular model. Mine was sewed to the upper most crossmember from the factory. I don't use this stand anymore since I bought my LW but had to do this modification for my brother since I donated it to him.

i have the same prob.. i turned the straps upside down.. turned them 180... it stoped the prob.. jus a lil more uncomfortable to carry

I'mroughly 5' 11" and I honestly don't have a problem with it. I mean it sits low, but it doesn't hit my legs.
