Have you ever had "that" bow?
Have you ever had "that" bow, that you have all the confidence in the world in and has never given you trouble? I believe I've found mind, and they quit making it next year. It was a one year and out. [>:]. Mine isn't going anywhere, it's one hell of a bow. It did awesome for 3D and now it's killing deer.
Mossy Oak X #60 ![]() |
RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
Yep, mine was a PSE Carroll Intruder II. Love that bow and still have it.

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
That is the Ally in my eyes, she will never go anywhere ;)

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
Yes sir, I have had that bow....I regretfully sold it just this last yearto a very good friend after him begging me for months to buy it....I have taken in the neighborhood of 20 animals with that bow and I had it for 6 years without ever having any trouble's with it!!!!! It was a Darton Maverick and Darton only has one pro shop in Texas and it was over 4 hours from my house or that would have been my choice on my new bow I bought this yearas well...
Matt, I am glad tou hear that you really like that MossyOak-X...I am looking into possibly buying the X-force as a back up bow, I guess I will wait till all the different maker's get their09's in thepro shopsbefore I make a final decision..... Here's the old Maverick with the hawg light attached..... ![]() |
RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
If you're looking at the XForce. I like the new cam style ;)
|
RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
Matt, a good friend of mine bought one (x-force)a few months back (the SS model), anyhow he was over at the house and aswe were setting it up, I really became impressed with that bow. It put up some real good numbers, was real quiet and after shooting it and realizing that it was as dead in the hand as my commander, I was impressed that a bow that small could be that quiet, dead in the hand and fast to boot.....I will be back in the states in a couple weeks and start getting my hands on some of the ones I am interested in .......

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
Get one of the 09' models. They are in Mossy Oak Treestand this year too. It'snot that I like the new 80% letoffcam for the letoff, it just "feels" better to me. Archery is definately a feel game.;)

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
I kept a Mathews LX for 3 years (which is about 3-6x longer than average).
My current bow PSE X Force shoots better than the LX (for me) and is blazing fast too; that combination should have the X Force on the long term list. I like it enough that Ibought a 2nd one. "That bow"x2 ![]() |
RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
I've had many and for you Matt, we'll see.;)

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
The recurve I've hunted with the last 13 years has been excellent to me!! It's been a great recurve and we've done very well as a team. It's shot me many deer and bear, 2 of which were P&Y animals. 140 1/8" Mn Whitetail and 20 5/16 Mn Bear. This Is our 14th straight year together hunting and stuff Isn't going so well. I lost about 12lbs In draw weight from last year. The limbs and everything else look excellent, I'm thinking It's something Inside the limbs that I can't see. My draw weight was 73lbs at 28", It's now 61lbs at 28". Some people have told me to put It up on the wall and retire It being something bad could happen when pulling It back with the sudden weight drop. There's a good chance that's going to happen come next year. I'm sticking with It this year for one last go around hopefully. I had to learn how to shoot this bow all over again this summer with the big drop In draw weight, It took me all summer to get good again. My confidence Is still a little shakey being It's like I'm a rookie again learning how to shoot a traditional bow. I averaged about 350 arrows a week practicing since June 15th this summer. We'll see If It makes It through the year, I sure hope so! It really Is sad though, I've gotten quite attached to this bow and would of used It for many more years If It was able to keep going.

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
My old Mathews Outback did nothing but dominated for me...3D and hunting. I sold it after 2 years to get my current bow, the XT. I love my XT, but that Outback was magical for me.
|
RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
My feelings exactly! Except I have a Drenalin now. That Outback was one durable realable sliver flicker. I regret trading it off.

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
Yes I finally have "that bow" too. Its my Parker Wildfire. Got it last year and have all the confidence when I pull it up. It just has that "feel" to it. From the first time I pulled it up , I knew it was mine.

RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
ORIGINAL: Rob/PA Bowyer I've had many and for you Matt, we'll see.;) Rob, I guarentee this bow will be here next year. Killing deer, and maybe even shooting a little foam. ;) |
RE: Have you ever had "that" bow?
every bow i have ever had has never given me any troubles.....i shoot just as accurate with each one...it depends a lot more on the shooter than the bow

I have a Browning F5 Tornato. Very good bow. I got my first and only bow kill with it last year. I have a handmedown bow from my Wife ex-boyfriend. It is a old Fred Bear Titan. I started to shoot it one day and decided to teach myself how to hunt. I notice that the draw was way to long.(allmost took off my nipple) That is when I Spent some real money and got the Browning.

Those of you that are familiar with Mathews bows will get a kick out of this. I bought a brand new FeatherMax back in 1997 and have used it ever since. I shoot a 360 grain arrow at 285 FPS. It still shoots like a dream after all these years.
I'll stop using it when it breaks. I like it that much. ![]() |
The first Xforce that I got felt incredible and I then shot the highest scores of 3d that I ever had... I was shooting it as well as my Pro-elite which I also loved. The Xforce was faster and much quieter from a hunting stand point...
I sold it to my hunting buddy b/c he was in real need of a good bow, so I gave it to him real cheap. ![]() ![]() |
yep... my mathews switchback xt....

I still have yet to find "that" bow. I've had a lot of bows that I like a lot, but not that one that I can't get rid of. I have a ton of fun looking for it though. |
Yup still got it, a 93 model Jennings Carbon Extreme.
The 3rd or 4th "hunting" bow I bought while searching for the "right" one way back then, ended up with it and still use it to this day. I don't recall my total arrow weight, 76# draw pushing 29" XX75 2216 camo hunter lite with Thunderhead 125, arrow speed 349 fps. One day I'll have to replace it yea, not really looking forward to that day. |
Mathews Outback just treestand killing machine.
|
I just bought a 2008 Botech Constitution off from Greg/Mo on the classifieds here. I haven't been fortunate enough to try it on a buck yet but I love the way it shoots.. Before this I had an old 90s? bow. It was a Bear/Jennings Bruin and it has shot good as well. But just the feel and smoothness of my newer bow is something else.. Now if I can find a buck to try it on..
