I could have stomped one on the side of a tree tonight, but I am too nice for that

The only difference between them and the common rat is....God gave squirrels a pretty little bushy tail.

Otherwise....I'd like to see 'em all trapped and sold to gator farms.

if you actually listen closely you can actually hear the difference between a deer and a squirrel. the squirrel will run, scamper, then stop for 30 seconds to a minute. a deer willbe much more steady. the make about the same amount of noise though. you just have to listen to the cadence...

While I tend to agree "most" of the time.....I swear some of them are perfect in their replication. I've been watching them. When they walk....it sounds JUST like a deer. It's uncanny.

My heart usually starts to thump when I hear that rustling in the leaves. I think I have determined the difference between the squirrels and the deer. They are very similar sounding though! I wouldn't mind sacrificing an arrow and a practice tip, and drilling a squirrel and sticking the arrow in the side of a tree.

i feel your pain...

i think i got it worse though...

where i hunt up north, there are hardly ANY squirrels....i dont know why...i believe its from the logging practices and predators...but anyway, theres just very few squirrels...talk about annoying when the 1 squirrel in the whole forest scurries through your setup.....

then i get used to hunting in areas void of squirrels, to go home to a squirrel sanctuary...it drives me mad.....im sending dad and the rifle to my honey hole as soon as my bowseason ends....he will have a field day...and next year, i will have less tree rats running around! i wish i had a bigger quiver.......hmmm

What??? These little guys. You guys obviously don't live out here where trees are few and far between. Color me stupid, butI get excited when I see a squirrel.

Literally, I will see more deer in a season than squirrels.

Now the armadillo, he is blind as a bat and can't hear either but he makes noise like a deer. On again, off again. Slow yet deliberate. Moves a little and then nothing for a couple of minutes. Then a faint sound again.

It goes like this.Did I hear something? Maybe. I don't see anything, I guess not......no, i heard it again..... I think. Nope, nothing. After about 10 minutes of this, all the while excited cause your anticipating a booner, you finally see the culprit and you laughto yourself and say "I've been had again by the ugliest creature known to man.'"

I was sitting in my stand just this past few days, and I wrote a song in my head about the danged old squirrels and how annoying, entertaining and
how easily they can fool you on the sound of approaching whitetail.....I should've wrote it down, I think it could've been a big hit!

Squirrel sex this late in the year, wow. Something is goofy this year, I saw a tom last week mount a hen.........squirrels do only carry for i think 9 days so maybe the little ones will make it through the winter. if not you might want to take them out
ORIGINAL: virginiashadow

I witnessed squirrel sex 3 days ago while in the woods.....not something I would like to see again.
