I kind agree but i think a trophy to a guy is a trophy. I have not killed a deer yet. This is my fourth out of five seasons hunting. If a 6 point walks by more then likely i will drop him. I hunt for meat. I am OK with a good rack. But at this point if it breaks 100+ pounds it is down. Which i do not see a issue most all the 1 1/2 year old deer are over that. But if i shoot a 6 point this year. I will not next season unless gun season rolls around and i am deerless.
But i want meat if that is a spike or a doe so be it. If i had a doe and a 6 point with the same body size i would drop the doe. But if he walks by on his own he is down. I am to dam hungry to let him pass.
But when i get some land i plan to follow dam closely. I hope to have some this next season but i said that last year so who knows.

If everyone let 2.5yo bucks walk-the timberwould be crawling with 130"+ bucks.
That's about the most uneducated thing I've heard, today.

Ok guys lets not OVERANALYZE this.. I think all he was implying was that an older buck generally increases antler size.. We can all agree there cant we, or is that wrong as well?[:@]

I just can't FATHOM why people care so much about what people shoot, I mean, if the person takes the game legally, and well within the bag limits, why criticize? If YOU want to shoot bigger deer, so be it. Whatever floats your boat. Whoever has said killing young deer is easy, is crazy.. If you think young deer, old deer, or just plain deer is easy, come hunt with me.. A deer with a bow is an accomplishment, and there are plenty of hunters out there that would love to have the opportunity.

Whatever makes you happy. If it's legal, congratulate them. There's no sense in criticizing someone for taking a deer that wouldn't be up to YOUR personal standards but is well within his state's restrictions and he took it legally. Take it easy guys.
