Cardboard, stacked, like layers of broken down boxes held by steel straps that are bolted to the floor and ceiling. It works rather well. I don't have anything to compare it to though, it's the only indoor range around. One other place uses 3D targets indoors.

I always thought that it might be nice to shoot from an elevated platform in a range. Never seen it done though.

HNI: I couple of the indoor ranges that I shoot at use conveyor belt. It works great as a backstop but once an arrow goes in you either have to cut it out or loose the insert.

I just have one question for you...Do you have thrid party Liability Insurance for this idea of yours..If not you better some or your gonna loose everything the first time somebody gets hurt.

We have also been looking into starting a archery club here..and do the fact there will be shooting, we have been advised to not do anything until insurance is in place or everybody who is on the board can be sued and loose everything if a injury occurs.

Can't help out with any suggestions, but I think opening an archery range indoors is a great idea. I wish there were some where I live. Good luck!

There is only one thing to use I have tried them all and the best is rags you can buy them by the box build a box and put wheels on it and you can move it. The shop where I shoot uses this method we have 40yds inside and move the targets to different distances we have shoots all winter even 3D its a blast.

The size is about 4x8 and about 18ins thick the first out of pocket expense is a little high but the targets last forever. And your arrows pull out with 2 fingers I even have one in my back yard you must keep them dry but you cant beat it.
