Removing quiver
 

I keep seeing and hearing about people removing their quiver while hunting and shooting. Well my question is why? I have a two piece quive that bolts on to the bow and have never even thought about taking it off to shoot.

They are heavy, make your bow unbalanced, andcan make your bow shoot differently than without it on due to canting or rotational torque that occurs when that weight is shifted at the shot..........so if you practice in the offseason with it OFF does it make any sense to hunt with it on?

There is no worse piece of equipment to leave on a bow IMO than a big fat fully loaded quiver. I hate them.[:'(]

i remove also, its just one more thing to hit aganst the stand and make a noise

I remove it mainly because I shoot all season without it. Also I always feel like all those bright fletchings moving around when your getting your bow up is a big flag waving. I remember seeing a guy on a hunting show with a 6 arrow quiver full of arrows, white wraps and white fletchings, and regardless of all the camo he had on, that mass of white stood out like a turd in a punch bowl. The huge buck that came incaught him moving when he was getting his bow up. Maybe it wasnt the arrows, but ever since then Ive been paranoid about it.

My quiver is off when I practice, and it is off when I hunt.

I never even put it on my bow. I keep it in my pack.

The quiver I have on these days is a two piece quiver that can't be removed. I shoot with it on my bow all year so I don't take it off when I am in the tree. I have never had any problems shooting with it on.

I leave mine on all the time, full of arrows (practice or hunting) and never had a problem either. It really makes no big difference either way - its all in how you practice and what you are used to.

i practice with it on and with it off, so if im walking to the stand i'll be ready to shoot with it on. but in stand i take it off because its too bulky and gets hung-up.

I always take it off. As matt said your bow is unbalanced. I also dont like the idea of bright fletching waving around... Just one more thing on your bow to get in the way and make sound...

I don't have a quick release on on my FireStorm Lite, but when I did on my Spyder I took it off when ever I could. It definitely made it lighter and actually solved a vibration/noise problem I had with that bow. I would like onenow. When I get some extra money I'm planning on updating my bow, probably for next season. Such as a quick release quiver, a NEW rest/string, sights, etc. I just need a make-over I think.

By the way, when can you hunt next week? We need to get out together.
