RE: Is hoyt going out of business?
04's TFOX were great! In a short 4 years things have changed. The Trykon from another company wouldn't be bad, but Hoyt was the leader before the trykon. Just a follower since.

RE: Is hoyt going out of business?
ORIGINAL: Dopler I'm just giving my opinion, I bought a Trykon, so did my best friend, we both agreed after months of shooting them, having themcoming out of tune over and over again that they were not good bows, we both couldn't sell them quick enough, that was my second Hoyt, the firstone wasthe same way. I have no product loyalty and am not swayed by biasas I'm not a dealer nor do I have any financial arrangement with any of the bow manufacturerslike many people on here do (I noticed that you're affiliated with Hoyt, hmmm). I own a Bowtech, 2 Mathews and a PSE, all are fine brands. Bottom line is Hoyt's are the worst of all the main bow brands in my opinion, you're entilted to your opinion. I don't doubt you had issues with your bow.My doubt was the root cause of the issue.Usually these statements come from those that are unaware what could cause the problems they are experiencing. Most issues I saw with the trykon were spine issues because people were trying to use their old arrows with a new bow that has an ibo of about 20 fps higher(this occurs with many brands, not just the trykon)AND,I have shot Hoyts for many years and I have never had an issue with the cam 1/2 going out of tune causing an issue.I even shot my current bow with the factory strings and cables that move all over the place and they caused no real problems when they moved. |
RE: Is hoyt going out of business?
ORIGINAL: mahoningbuck This is getting good........let the great debate start up again. Hoyt, no no Mathews......Hoyt, no no Fred Bear......Hoyt, no no PSE.......Hoyt, no no Diamond! Lets not open up this can of worms about who makes a better bow. IT IS ALL ABOUT PERSONAL PREFERENCE! If that make and model doesnt meet your expectations dont buy it. I do believe no two bows are madethe same so you need to take care of your own equipment. I have had a hoyt for six years and taken enough deer to feed an army but I do believe my bow was as good as it gets. Early season shootings guys always comment on how smooth my bow is and how quiet it is so I would buy a new one if the price is right. I am in the mood right now to try a Diamond but I will never have anything bad to say about Hoyt! Absolutely true, the old Chevy verses Ford. That wasn't in anyway what I was refering to in my argument,Hoyt has one of the best bows on the market, that is a matter of fact, not opinion. The records in tournaments prove it as well as durability. That DOESN"t mean it is the best choice for everyone.Everyone has different taste and opinions,I agree with their right and opinions from that point of view. I myself have been checking out the Elite bows and to tell you the truth,I like them but the wall does concern me.Plus,I can't get them through my shop.;):D |

RE: Is hoyt going out of business?
Sorry to open up a can of worms...lol Well at least I got a lot of responses! I wouldn't of thought they were going out of business either because when I opened up my hunting mag, I seen there was an ad for 09' models, and thought it was kind of odd that they would do that if they were going under. The guy heard it from another guy at work...lol that figures...I just thought I would check because I really liked my old Hoyt Powertec, it felt great, shot great, and that is probably what I will get...friday I am going to shoot a few different ones...potentially a bowtech, matthews...etc...but probably a hoyt just because I liked my old one so much...I just wanted to make sure that if I get something there isn't a good chance that I wont be able to get it serviced from the factory if need be.

RE: Is hoyt going out of business?
ORIGINAL: Dopler I've owed several Hoyt's and I said never again after the Hoyt Trykon joke that I bought.Worst major bow on the market in my opinion. They make a good recurve bow though but they should stay out of the compound bowmarket.I will say that thebows look nice andhave beautiful finishes but are notvery good performers compared to the other big three. I doubt they are going out of business though. haha, that's the funniest thing I've read in a while. I loved my Trykon, it shot tacks with any tip you put on an arrow... never had a tuning issue... Sounds like your "Trykon Joke" needed a tune up.:eek: |
