HOLLY CRAP ! ! ! ! ! !
OMG I did it. Well most of you might not know that I've never shot a deer with anything, not even a gun. I've been hunting since I was 12, and now I'm 37. I've hunted every year, but nothing. I really enjoy hunting, so it wasn't a big deal. But the last 3 years, I've been really trying to step up my game, so I could hit a deer if one walked out in front of me. So to say the least I was very confident that if one walked out in front of me I believed it would be dead. Well I got that chance yesterday and now we have a DOE HANGINGIN THE GARAGE. WOW is this awesome. This is what it feels like? She wasn't a huge deer byno means, but it"s a deer. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Man finally after 25 years I did it! ! ! !
Thanks guy's for all the great help and info. |

Congrats! So what do you think the difference was this year? Maybe " confident enough that you could kill it" you need to believe that everytime you step in to the woods. Now with this under your belt you will start to have more sucess.

RE: HOLLY CRAP ! ! ! ! ! !
Even though it took you 25 years to take a deer, I'd be inclined to call you more of a hunter than some of the people we see on the TV shows who shoot giant deer that most of us will never see!! Their persistence involves sitting for a few hours on a heavily managed fenced in property or with high priced guides....all being paid for by sponsorships. Yours on the other hand involved a willingness to keep trying year after year...because you LOVE it.....not because you are trying to sell a friggen product!!
My first deer was also "just a small doe" that I took with my bow. But I still think back to that hunt almost more than any other. That deer will always be my number one trophy. Probably even if I manage to drop a monster buck someday. Disclaimer: I realize not all the celebs fit my description above but I think my point was made. :D |

I was using a mechanical, and the exit wound was unreal. Wait till you see it. I am amazed at how big it was. She only ran about 50 yards, but the size of the exit, I surprized she ran that far.
