Same thing happened to me this morning. I had what I believe was a young doe sneak up on me sort-of, not-quite down wind, she was 10yrds before I even seen her, when I did see her,she never looked up, I raised my Bino's for a sex check and a crow cawed at the same time "fairly" close, about 1/2 second afterward, she bolted.

Ultimate camo....but it wasn't the camo's fault.

Yesterday.....the wind died about 45 minutes before dark. She and the fawn came in upwind of me......and they all headed to the pond (I was just east of the pond)....Or....so I thought. She backtracked and snuck in under me and was hiding under a sapling branch looking at me. I guess she caught my scent when the wind died. Anyway.....she's good.

Today...she came in along a fence line (off the property I can hunt....but where i could see her/them)....and they "seemingly" kept going. The fawn went straight at the crossing and mama took a little detour. I saw her at the last second.....and also thought I heard another deer to my right. So I turn my head to the right just a little....and she pegged me.....blew and hopped. She then stayed around behind me in the stomping game for so long my arms and hands went sore as heck as I did the freeze game, myself.

That's what I get for trying to get 'em on film.....lol. She DID get dwonwind of me, finally....but never blew again. She knew something was fishy...but never put 2 and 2 together. They hung around for about 15 minutes. I tuened to the left after a while and saw the fawn, still. Looked away.....looked back...and she was gone.

They're good.

Don't worry Jeff... you ain't the only one with a nemisis doe.... I went in the neighborhood tonight where I missed that chip shot a week ago..... I was all ready for her good and early too and I'll bea son of gun if that damn deer didn't come from the other end of the neighborhood.

Here I am watching all intend to my left and I hear something behind me... I turn around and there that stupid doe is drinking out of the bird bath behind Mr. Larry's house in flying gaff range of the patio furniture... and she saw me turn too... I had no cover on that side... why would she come from that direction????? All I could see was that big old white spot between her eyes.....

So help me God... I'm gonna kill that deer if it takes me until April to do it (legal in the urban zone).

Did you try closing your eyes so as not to stare at them, it works for me! For some reason when I do this the deer seem to get a calming affect.

If it works out that I can have you up, Monday.....let's just say....it's the grey one.
