I found some serious sign from a buck that i have found the last 2 years sets of sheds from. The sign, as predicted from previous findings, are in a saddle 100 yards downhill from the top of the ridge on the north side of the hill. This saddle leads to the core area of the buck, going uphill and west to northwest. My first question is thermals. Will thermals have a drastic effect on wind movement on the Northern side of the hill since it doesnt get hit with direct sunlight? Should I hunt on the upper side of the saddle, furthest from the bed as possible in the evening? It leads to mature white and red oaks in three directions from the saddle, two being downhill and one being uphill. The other is uphill to the bed, on a narrow ridge. The last question is should I just wait for a strong wind from the correct direction to override the thermals?
We will be getting a strong North wind tommorrow, should I set up for it or wait until the evening?
