Whitetails Unlimited
Anyone a member? I recently went to a Ducks Unlimited banquet (and was very impressed) and the whole time was thinking, "there must be something like this for Deer". So I did some research and see there is one but I don't know anyone who is a member.
Just curious if anyone knows anything about them. Any one have good/bad experiences?
Thanks

I am a life member of WU. Their banquets are not as nice as the DU banquets (at least the ones I have been too around here), but they are a ton of fun and they give away some great prizes. WU is an organization worth joining as they do our sport a ton of good.

I am a member of the Northeast Iowa Chapter, and have been for some time. They put on a great banquet. It is amazing the work that goes into one of these banquets. They always have a good meal, numerous items for the auction, and what everyone is there for- the gun raffels. I would guess at least 25-30 guns get given away every year. It is not cheap but the money goes for something that we all have a passion with. Last year our chapter bought and donatedbows for our local park and rec. Alot of kids got exposed to archery because of this. My advise would be to join and check for yourself.

I'm also a memebr of the Lick Creek chapter here in Missouri! Joined last year and attended the Banquet! Banquet was very well organized and the place was chocked full of raffle items! Realize that! This is a great organization doing great things for our sport but the Banquets are basically moneymakers. You buy raffle tickets for so much monay and then you put your raffle tickets into whichever drawing you want a chance at. There was also a silent auction that probably had over 50 different things to bid on. Again, everything costs money but it is for a good cause.
