RE: Rob's Buck on Video
I think it's time for the King to weigh in on this subject and settle it once and for all. Quick, where you at??

RE: Rob's Buck on Video
Tell me this, if I photo/film that deer weeks from now, you still going to say he'll die eventually? If Mez comes in and says he'll die of this wound, though,.....will you shoot him? I'll also concede that anything's possible. If you'll recall the photo of the doe I shot with the rage that had her intestines hanging out of her.....I could find NOWHERE where they were punctured. It's as if the blades opened up a slit in her hide (before entering) withut touching them (intestines). So again....."anything's" possible. |
RE: Rob's Buck on Video
GMMAT, while it may look different, I think it's still important to think about how high that entrance wound is. It's just too high to hit anything. To hit anything internal, it would have to have a much lower exit wound.

RE: Rob's Buck on Video
Honestly, Pops.....What do you think is 1.5-2" just insside the "exit" wound? Ain't no backstraps, there. No other "muscle". No "ribs". What's 1.5-2" inside that spot? ![]() |
RE: Rob's Buck on Video
First off, I have to agree with Schultzy on the distance down the wound is. Looks to be no more than 3, maybe 4 inches at most. I also believe when a deer is standing in a relaxed state, his stomach and intestines are actually lower in the body cavity than most realize. Take a minute and get down on the floor on your all-fours and relax your stomach muscles. Feel the insides shift downward? That is caused by gravity my friend. I do not care what type animal it is, this effect will always be. I honestly think the arrow went thru the shot side backstrap and the offside just below tenderloins. No guts hit. jmho The downward view that is being posted does not tell the story. The close-up video of Rob's tells it true.

RE: Rob's Buck on Video
After reading all this BS and looking at all the photos, I have to agree with Jeff. That arrow passed though the cavity somewhere. I think the burden of proof lies on those that say it did not. I just don't see it possible to hit one side of the spine and then exit that low without going under the spine.

RE: Rob's Buck on Video
I just went back and looked at this.....AGAIN.
Notice in this photo that there are TWO "tufts of hair. The one that looks to be the entrance wound (or most matches the tuft that is supposedly the "exit" wound) is BELOW the one that we see on the video. ![]() Here's the link to the video. Notice the tuft you see here is NOT the "entrance" wound. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v499/Poorguy/Videos/?action=view&current=CloseUpShotBuck.flv |

RE: Rob's Buck on Video
I'll draw that arrow going IN at ANY angle you want, PT....but it's gonna need to match up, coming out. I've tried and tried and I ca;t get it to look "right" any other way than the way I have it depicted.
And the updated video Rob posted (and I linked to) is still working. I just viewed it, again. Try my link, above. It's the one I used....and the tuft you see in it is NOT the netrance wound. if you look close....you'll see (on the video) the entrance wound below the one you can see well. If you have MS "Paint". Save the photo to your hard drive.....pull it up on "Paint".....doctor it any way you want......and show me the angle you want me to see. I'm all ears/eyes. |
RE: Rob's Buck on Video
What I find strange is that BOTH tufts of hair look like exits.
