Default Would you shoot farther than normal IF….

These were the following conditions.
3” of fresh snow had fallen and it was forecasted to be there for several days, with no additional accumulation.
You were hunting a place where you really didn’t have to worry about the animal making it to a property line
You had the next couple days off incase a long track job/search was needed
The animal was relaxed and broadside and in the wide open
It was likely to be your last chance at a quality animal for the year

So there’s the situation. Do you take a shot farther than you normally would?
It doesn’t matter if your normal max is 10 yds or 100 yds, given the above conditions, would you chance the shot?
To minimize argument potential, a simple yes or no will suffice, you don’t need to state your actual yardage.

I can't honestly answer this I don't think. I guess if my max range is 40 yards, and Hole-in-the-horn is standing at 42 yards, he's getting an arrow. If he's at 55, then I'm not shooting. Distance beyond "max range" is the grey area for me.

NO.............I never shoot beyond my maximum effective range. I won't risk wounding/losing an animal.

My max range might change for different situations.
My max range for most stands is about 20 yards but I'm confident out to almost 50 Yards.
Yes.

Are badgers out of season now or something? And i'm not sure that Wolverines are worth the arrow anymore

Oh and maybe. My effective range is 30 Yards. 31-33 or so, maybe. I might just have a hard time controlling the urge to try it. If known yardage is outside that, No

I might, but I'm not talking much over say 28-30 yards.

With snow details really stand out, its so thick here in early season shooting twenty is difficult.
