Default What if...

me and my brother go hunting together and one of us takes a bow and one takes a shotgun in case a deer or turkey walk by. Is that illegal? I know in some states it is to have both on yourself but what if it is two people hunting together. Just curious. It seems like everytime we go out for one, the other shows up.

Turkey is not my favorite target with a bow to say the least. They see everything I do. I need to really practice being as stealthy as possible before I attempt that feat and we are goin this weekend. Eventually I will, but not there yet.

As long as each of you are only in posession of one or the other, and have the appropriate liscense.....it's perfectly legal.

Here in NY its not legal as long as you don't have a slug. Small game season is open and like you said, he wants to hunt turkey so I don't see how that is a problem, but check with your local game warden office to be sure. Don't forget to get the name of who you talk to so if there is a problem you know who you talk to.
