Holy **** a fawn born 2 days ago?
Ok I have seen some weird things in my life, but I have never seen a fawn born in October? We were in the blind this evening in behind a subdivision. We were just getting ready to pack up when my buddy says deer... I said where? He said look down. Guys I am not kidding this fawn was the size of my wife's house dog and looked like it was still wet and very wabbly. Didn't see the mother.Well we let it go on about its business and on our way out we ran into the lady who lives in front of the field we are set up on and she said that the doe was bedded in her back yard two days before and that she had seen her drying the fawn about 12 pm. What in the heak?

Did you happen to find the deer you hit and posted about while you were out there?

well that just means the mom doe came into heat late and needs to eventually be taken out near the end of the season when that fawn is old enought to support itself. You dont want does that come into heat that late

I don'tthink if it was that she came late in heat as a character trait. I would be willing to bet that the buck to doe ratio is way out of wack and she didn't get bred until she came into estrous for the second or third time.
