RE: API Treestands vs. Others(o'lman, lone wolf etc)
I posted a review of my Ol'Man original climber under the deerhunting gear review section. I think it's very good stand. A friend of mine bought a Summit Viper last year and loves it.
To tell you the truth, you cannot go wrong with any of the top treestand manufactures. They're ALL making very good treestands.

I use an API super star climber, and it is real comfortable. It is a
sit/stand climber instead of the hand climbing type.I also use an
'Ol Man vision climber. It too is good for a long day on stand. Both stands hook up on one side of the tree, and are quiet and well built.
The net seat on the vision is not as comfortable as the padded one on the API,but is cooler in hot weather, and will let rainwater pass thru,so you ain't got a wet butt all day.You can get a padded seat for the vision as an accessory.I like stands that have foot-rests.
They just are much more comfortable to me,and both of these do.The
vision is open in front, with the top half flipped over as a foot rest, and the API has a climber bar that folds out of the way,if you
prefer the open front.I'd recommend either one for a good bow stand!

Well, it has been a long time since I posted this and to the dissatisfaction of some I decided on a Summit. Originally I had chosen the Cobra but after more consideration I went with the Bushmaster. I have been scouting with it about 20 times in rough terrain and sat all day long in it. Although it isnt a lounge like some others it is very comfortable. Thank you all for your suggestions I really appreciate your help. It is good to know that I have such a great wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on when needed.

I would highly recommend the summit stands
I have 2 of the Summit Cobra's and I love them. VERY quiet
They are very light and pack in alot better than the API (my oppinion)
They seem to be alot more quiet during set up & when packing to leave your stand.
My hunting buddy has an API and he seems to have trouble with the "bike chain" getting around the trees
With the Summit, the back cable moves easyly around the tree & locks in solid

You made the right choice with the Bushmaster by Summit.
PABowhuntr will tell you tall tales.
