Default Getting my Rig right

Alright So this is my first Post here. I read a few and yall seemed helpful.

I Shoot a Martin Cheetah 08, Maxed out at 75lbs, they are only suposed to go up to 70, but it maxed at 75. I am a big guy so i can shoot all day... I have a whisker biscuit. I shoot 28 inch Carbon express rebel Hunters. Which shoot great in the wind because they are so heavy. But I have standard vanes, I am thinking of changing to Blazer vanes for more arrow speed. I also am changing out my Vital bow gear Proslide for a 5pin vital bowgear sight. the Proside was great for 3d shooting but unless I had a range finder, i cant mess around with guessing...

So My main reason for asking for help is. Will Blasers give me more arrow speed?

I shoot Magnus Snuffer 125gr 3 blade screw in heads.

If I have my Broadheads tuned correctly with the fletchings, will the blazers give me more arrow speed on the rebelhunters, but still be able to stabelize my arrow with a 3blade magnus snuffer.

By the way I did do a Kenetic energy test with my rig. at 30yards i set up an inch thick pin board infront of my Broadhead target on a fresh spot. I sent an arrow into it. and spit the board, the broadhead cut the first half inch clean through and the the board buckled the rest of the way and the arrow went a full 10 inchs into the target.

I am getting the vital bowgear 5 pin because with my arrow being around 441.40gr overall it has a lot of kenetic energy, but seems to drop a lot every 5yards. So I want a pin for 20.25.30,35,and 40.

I am after Illinois whitetails and perhaps Ted Nugents wildboars.

Yes, you will net a BIT more speed from blazers. In the neighborhood of 3 to 5 fps. Basically negligable by themselves.

However, blazers will perform BETTER when being shot through your whisker buscuit... they'll hold up a lot better than the 4" vanes you currently have on your arrows.

One of the issues with shooting a heavy arrow is dealing with a steeper trajectory. Thats alright.... you just have to know the distance to your target, or keep your shots close. I am comfortable shooting to 50 yards under ideal conditions and known ranges.... but my average over about 80 animals and 10 seasons.... 12 yards.

By and large, having your blades aligned exactly with your fletchings is little more than an old wives tale... now, every arrow has a sweet spot... and sometimes turning your nock a bit... and certainly squaring up your arrows is a great way to improve flight if you are having an issues. For the most part, blazers will fly a a broadhead as good or better than 4" vanes will.

Thank you very much. I just got a call from one of my friends who is shooting Expandable heads. He put one into the deers shoulder and it didnt even stuble when it ran. So I am glad that I did that little shoulderblade test with my arrows.

As for the steep trajectory, that is why I want 5 pins. So that I am not pinguessing. Thats what attracted me to the Proslide but like i said above its not a hunting sight unless you got a range finder and plenty of time to shoot.

So I am going to refletch at my proshop with Blasers. my only hangup was about how well they would shoot with Broadheads like heavy snuffers. But I have a great faith in Magnus products. in truth, my broadheads with the Rebel Hunters with that weight forward Buff tuff Tec... well it works pretty good and almost shoots better than my field points. The thing about the Rebel Hunter is its heavy, but i can shoot it on a windy as hell day and not loose any windage, and the buff tuff stuff, I think moves the weight forward to the broadhead and away from the fletchings So they can work together for spin and not against each other.
