Good luck. I'm saying a prayer to the deer gods in your favor.

That deer was on alert and I noted it ducked a bit. Hard to tell how much or really see where the impact was.Hard to believe how fast those reflects were.

I woke up this morning guysand it was doing the worst possible thing....raining :(. I packed my stuff though and headed out to were we left off yesterday. Their wasstill someblood left from last night and i tracked it to the end again, then started to circle. Between last night and today we searched every wooded area in the surrounding area, and found no other sign of him. The only places we couldn't get to were inside the cornfields, but we did walk the edges looking for blood or tracks. Im going to ask around to see if any of the neighbors have found or seen anything (its a close knit community and most of the neighbors are relatives).I cant help but hope that he is ok and it was only a flesh wound at this point.

And thanks for the pointers guys, their going to help out big time in the future.

Did you ever find your arrow?

Yes, it pulled all the way through when the deer entered the woods. That was the first thing we found actually. There wasnt any fat on the arrow, justa little bit of skin, some hair and the vanes were a little bloody.

I bet you just nicked the top of the loins Caleb. Your arrow otherwise should of had allot more blood on It going through them meaty loins.

The only place with any blood on the arrow was the vanes, the shaft had very little and altogether it wasnt alot. Their was one spot where we found a decent amount of blood on some bushes, but other then that it was just drops here and their.

I honestly couldn't tell a thing watching the vid on my monitor...

I hit a buck above the spine last fall and did not recover him as well, it was the first deer I ever lost.

Keep your head up.

Once i clicked on "watch in hgh qualtiy" I could tell that you def hit above the spine. The deer will live as you didnt catch an artery or you would have seen the blood everywhere last night.

If you freeze it right at the end of the 20 second or beginning of the 21 second frames you can see pretty well.

Thanks for comment Rob, im thinking along those same lines as well...we didnt find alot of blood which would point to that.
