I know, I know...if it is legal we shouldn't bash other types of hunting and whatnot.....but then again they shouldn't have sent me a brochure as part of some mass mailing list they bought from the State Dept of Wildlife if they don't want me to complain and whine about it.

1000 acres and while it doesn't explicitley say so, I guarantee you it is a high fenced operation. 1000 acres may sound big to some of you thick woods guy back east, but in the realm of Texas ladscape/terrain, that is not very big. 1 mile wide by 1 1/2 mile long or some configuration thereof.

Basically, its 200/day for lodging and 200/day for a required guide and then trophy fees apply.

They state you will see 20-30 trophy animals per day.

130's -150's $3500
160's-190's $10,000
200 and over - fee upon request

Wounded game is paid at full trophy fee

10-15% gratuity is recommended therefore expected

I know this post won't change anything and probably should have left unwritten, but when I read the owner's qoute

i'll probably get flamed too, but personally i agree with you. high fenced operations to me are not the same as hunting unfenced public or private land.

I hate seeing anything priced by the inch, I wouldn;t look twice personnaly BUT there are some i.e. anesthesiologists, surgeons, lawyers, with the dough but without the time that enjoy to hunt and can afford to partake in such activities to get out and get a buck, I dont care, I hope they had fun!

I'd just as soon buy a steer. Its all livestock anyway. And I agree with you about making Tx look bad. I think those outfits suck.

You can always find an idiot for any high priced "product". I am selling guided hunts here where we have invisible fences. $500 per day for guiding, $500 per day for lodging (I put you up at the local Flea Bag Inn), and $100 per every deer you do not see. Prices for the deer you do see are available upon request. What sets my operation away from the rest is, if you do shoot a deer, I'll sit back and sip a beverage while I ALLOW you to experience the ultimate hunting experience by tracking, field dressing and recovering your own deer! Seriously, there are many places like this all around the country and it's all part of the Supply & Demand system. As long as there are persons of other moral values that want to do this, there will be people who will do it for the almighty buck (the monetary kind, not the 4 legged kind).

Ya know, it just dawned on me...all this is is prostitution for deer. The rancher is the Pimp, the deer are the Ho's, the hunters are the John's. Pimp exploits Ho's, gets paid, doesn't feel bad. Pimp's happy, John's happy, Ho is dead. It's like a Kennedy Family outing!
