I cant even really watch hunting shows anymore because i know its all filmed on ranches like this. IMO its not hunting or killing, its slaughter.

I know what you mean Jack. 1000 acres, and you have enough 180+ deer to actually price them that way? It's got to be not only high fenced but run like an intensely managedFARM.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for management. Age structure and nutrition are things I work on alot, but there is no high fence involved, and no genetics that weren't provided by nature. At the end of the day I am just doing the best I can with what nature gives me.

The bottom line is that there are people in any field, in any walk of life that want to buy success. Whatever it costs. There are others who the true sense of their self worth comes from knowing what they accomplished was on their own. Neither camp everunderstands the motivations ofthe other.

What can I say, it ain't my style.[:@]

That was my thought exactly. If they all but guarantee you that you will see between 10-20 trophy deer each day, it makes you wonder what the acre/deer ratio is and what all of this heavily skewed population of mature bucks does to the social order and interaction of the deer within the confines.

My guess is since these deer have all been artificially bred and raised, that they don't interact and behave in any fashion similar to their native counterparts, but just a guess on my part.

I'd just as soon buy a steer. Its all livestock anyway. And I agree with you about making Tx look bad. I think those outfits suck.
exactly my thoughts. A nice rack is awesome to get, but to think of all the beef I could buy for that kind of money!
