Default Locked Up Already!
Just got these pics from a friend. Says it was from last week in west central MN. Blows my mind that this is already going on. One deer was dead and the other wasreleased to battle another day.

They were going at it in a field in front of me alst night. I got to watch it for 2 hours. Buck season starts Sat.

Man, that is crazy. A little sparing must have turned into a big fight! At least the one buck was released and survived. I bet hes gonna be sore for a few days!

Wow, that's crazy. And the antis think WE are the cruel ones...Mother Nature gets that award every time.

They're known to tickle horns this time of year. I don't think things get too heated between bucks right now. Kinda like dogs playfully fighting. They should still be running in bachelor groups. Atleast, here in SC.

Not too early, once their antlers harden they really feel each other out for dominance because prior to that they were buds and just boxed a little. Dominance is usually laid down long before the does even begin to come into estrous. (rut)
