There's nothing wrong with your post Bowtech 360. You have a right to post your opinion just like anybody else.

This thread topic is also right on the borderline of acceptability.

Christine, not that you need permission ... you don't, but feel free to delete the whole thing ........ I have no problem with that ..... I find it interesting how the topic of "the kill" is on the borderline of acceptability, however .... now my original POSTS may have been, but we cleared that up rather quickly ....but the topic???

I gotta agree, while things within the thread may be unacceptable....how can the topic of "killing" be unacceptable on a hunting website?

Just curious. I have no dog in the fight. I enjoy the kill just as much as the hunt when I'm bowhunting.I've always looked atit this way....if you arent out to kill, why bring a weapon along?

Rackluster....

NO HEAD is gonna go through hard bone.....other than a rib bone. Not one of them. THAT was my point.
You are dead wrong on that. I have taken out BOTH shoulders on a buck with a Muzzy.Dropped him on his nose. I have gone through the shoulder on others for a kill. I have abuddy that hasblown through shoulders with a fixed blade also. All this on large midwestern deer.Shoot at enough deer and someday it is going to happen. When it does, I would take a smaller fixed blade over any large mechanical EVERY time. I have tried both. Any head through the lungs will kill. Not every head on marginal hits will.IF you ever shoot as many deer as some on this board have, you will stop the snide comments about shot placement, because it will happen to you too.

RE: The Kill - Revisited .......

Killing isn't the problem. It's the 'I hunt so I can kill stuff', 'I need to kill something' or the 'I hunt to kill not kill to hunt' attitude that is borderline.

The followingis from an anti-hunting website, it is how they try to portray us. Do you guys agree with it?

Hunters are killers, plain and simple. Let us not mince words. Hunters try to justify their violent pastime, but whatever they say to the contrary, hunting is the premeditated, cold-blooded killing of innocent animals.

The object of the hunt is to kill animals. Hunters argue that it is not just about killing. They claim that the camaraderie, nature appreciation, exercise, nature education, and so-called conservation benefits are just as important a part of the hunt as the actual killing or attempted killing of the target animal.

It is ludicrous to believe that someone who actively sets out to kill a healthy animal for fun, trophy or profit really cares about wild animals specifically or nature in general.

If you just wanted 'to kill stuff' get a job a dog pound, slaughter house or buy a barn full of chickens... but don't taint the hunt for those of us who believe it's about more than just killing.
