Can someone tell me the best time to ratting and is early october to early.

early Oct. depends on the part of the country your in. I always rattle the last week in Oct. thats B/P season here.the bucks always come to the horns for me then.I have tried it earlier and later with less results.
every year in B/P season the wife or I always take a couple coming in to the horns.

thats just the way I find it here.I also don't beat them like ya see on the TV shows.I just tickle them enough that my wife can hear me at about 100 yards.
We set up about 100 yards apart,so we can see about 3 to 400 yard span.I have a little 6pt. set that I put handles on the burrs,(wooden dowels)that way I can hold them and not pinch my fingers.

just give it a try ; what ya got to lose?

I got the latest copy of Bowhunter magazine last night. There is a very interesting article in there about rattling. To sum it up, most hunters don't rattle loud enough or long enough. Mornings are best, overcast days are good, pre-rut, rut, post rut all work. Pick up a copy and give it a read.
I did some light rattling this past weekend. I wish I had done more and will likely have the rack with me this coming weekend.

No It's not to early. I've had great success In rattling. IMO the best time to start Is about the 10th of October through to the end of the season. That has been my experiences anyway.
