pic of mt. lion I called in
I had just finished a calling setup (using a cow call)and a buddy and I were slowly moving up the trail when we spotted a lion that was working its way toward the calls. It was staying still watching us as we worked up the trail. Probably would have just stayed there and let us pass if we hadn't seen it. This picture was taken @ 40 yds. After a minute, it slunk off without a sound-a big cat!

BTW, this was here in Colorado. We had found 2 elk carcasses, probably killed by mtn. lions, close to where we saw this guy.

Man I don't know if I have the balls to hunt where big cats live. I guess I should just stick to the mid-west. Great picture!

Had the same thing happen on a turkey set-up we had going several years back.

RE: pic of mt. lion I called in
I would be scared to take a pic of him that close. I would be afraid that the flash would set him off and he'd be ready to hunt me down! Seriously though, cougars are some lethal hunters.

That's creepy. It's got be strange knowing you're not necessarily the apex predator in the woods.
