A little help for the new guy
#1
Hey guys I am new to the forum and a fairly new hunter. New to bowhunting this year. I am trying to figure out where I need to hunt on 2 particular pieces of land. They are both public land but from what I can tell there arent that many people hunt them. Especially during the weekdays which is when I will be hunting them. I have been reading posts and I know that some of you guys are really good with aerials and topo maps. I was wondering if anyone might could share a little wisdom with the new guy. The top pic is the only one I have of that piece of land. The area that I am allowed to hunt and will be hunting is bordered in yellow. The last twoare the same chunk of land. The aerial is bordered in black and the topo is again in yellow. Any help would be appreciated.

Where I circled may be some possible funnel areas, (areas that may force the deer to travel a certain way to get where they need to go.) Thespot furthestNorthlooks like it could be a great funnel spot for deer getting around a body of water. I noticed the tracks, but don'tlet them discourage you, they're used to it. The two spots further down might be worth scouting as well. There looks to be a field East of thereand a small onefuther south. Again look for funnels or pinch points these are a start. They may or may not be where you need to be but it's a start.Stay safe, and good luck.
