Well I got my climbing out and started to take a couple of practiceclimbs with it. Well on the second climb i was about 4 feet off the ground and crack i came down like a ton of bricks(i am sore but ok).The tree stand is toast and bow season starts on saturday.It isno where near in my budget to buy a new one.so who knows whati am going to do.i do not thinki know anyone thathas an extra one i can use.looks like i might have to try hunting off the ground for the first time.!#$!!$#@!$[:@]

Thank god you are ok. 20 feet up would have been a different story. What cracked and broke? Was it the strap, pin, or the frame? How old was the stand?

frame about 10yrs old and i do not remember what kind. It was a cheap brand at KMart

Glad to hear you're OK. Sorry to hear about your stand. As Red asked, what broke? Can you post some pics? It might give us all an idea of what to look for on our own stands to avoid a fall.

Get an inexpensive hang on and some tree steps and get out there.
