Default 5 pt. - NH starter

9/15 - I started the season by sitting opening day for 14.5 hours non-stop! I can't say I'll do this again - oh my aching back! No deer sightings at all!
9/16 - I could only go out for 2 hours before picking up my son @ daycare. I get in my stand @ 2 and @ 2:45 I have a fawn whiz by me, so I proceed to get into position and have a BIG doe @ my 27 yard marker, but let her go with the intentions of shooting a buck.
9/17 - No deer, but a chance sighting of 3 young gray fox running and playing around me within 10 yards for over 10 min. - very cool!
9/18 - I Get in my stand @ 3 and by 4PM twin 6-pointers came into sight and fed for 20 minutes, as I drew my bow once on both of them but was hoping Daddy might come around the corner. I'll name the twins "Alert" and "Hungry".
Well, after the 20 min. Mr. Alert feeds within 8 yards and stops on the other side of some scrub brush and puts his nose to the wind and continually licks his nose and finally pinpoints me 15 minutes later. In the mean while Mr. Hungry feeds 4 yards pass me, just over my left shoulder. I decided I had to take out Mr. Alert, as I figured every time he came into this spot he will look right at me, so he needs to be rubbed out. Just then Mr. Hungry stomps away and I only have seconds before Mr. Alert bolts, so as he turns and walks back toward the direction he originally came from, I stopped him with a bleat @ 30 yards... A clean quartering away shot and 80 yards later a nice 5 pointer that dressed out @ 114lb. Now the pressures off with some meat in the freezer, so back to my original plan for the big one!
I hope that if I save the stupid one (Mr. Hungry) for next year, I might get a chance @ an 8 pointer!

Congrats! I've been wanting to get out and hunt, but only made it out Tuesday due to all my homework (the heat and bugs haven't helped either!).

Where in S. NH are you? I'm going to school at UNH and hunt right around campus.

Good luck getting the big guy!
