BEAR DOWN IN OREGON!!! Pics!
So we headed out at around 4:30 p.m. and I got all set up. Then I got what I needed and headed up a steep hill and then I heard something up above me crashing through the brush. So I nocked my arrow with a slick trick broadhead on the end and just waited... About 5 seconds later it appeard to be comming out from behind the bush. So I ranged it at32 yards and drew back. Pretty soon it comes out and it looked like a nice bear, so I carefully put the pin where I thought the vitals would be and then I shot! Making a prefect double lung shot it went 10 yards and fell over dead. I was pretty exited cause it was my first big game animal with a bow!

Pretty soon it comes out and it looked like a nice bear, Please know I am not trying to squash your excitment, but your above statements made me nervous as I read them .... let me 'splain... it SOUNDS like you drew back on SOMETHING that was behind brush that appeared to be coming towards you ..... what if it was a hunter? I had a real life scenario happen to me ..... I come through a thick area on MY property and there stands a kid with his bow drawn and pointed right at me [:@]..... he said, "I was watching this big doe and I thought you were her." .... I wasn't a man of God back then, [>:]so needless to say he'll prolly never make that mistake again .......;) |

That was fun John....I wish i coulda been there for the shot but your acrobatic trick was pretty cool!![8D]
You guys shoulda seen him roll off a 12 foot bank doing 2 flips.....WITH a bow AND gun on his back...then stand up and wait for us to get the bear down the bank.....IT WAS IMPRESSIVE!!!....all without one bad word coming out of his mouth!....i guess he was just too happy:D CONGRATS! |
