My very first deer (doe) i hit in the back ham and hit that artery. She ran about 25 yds and dropped like a rock. I've taken a deer every year in my 7 years and have never seen one drop that hard. My dad rifle hunted for years and years and he couldn't believe I killed that deer. Pulling the arrow out was like a thick soupy mess. From what I've seen, they don't go far.
